What is Fueling Change?

Information about the program, the project and the mission to help the environment

Fueling Change is an environmental conservation program which seeks to bring different ideas and people under one umbrella in a bid to achieve one goal; which is conservation of the environment. This social investment undertaking collects money from various sources geared towards environmental preservation, and it directs at least two million dollars a year to an environmental project. Such projects aim towards improving the quality of life in Canada regarding air, land, and water.

How it works

For an environmental project to succeed in receiving a grant from Fueling Change, some steps need to be taken by the project heads. First off, the leaders submit the plan for consideration to Fueling Change. If the proposed application meets the criteria required for a project to go through, the project’s features and title will get uploaded onto the Fueling Change website. Once on the site you will get a chance to vote for the projects they feel are more in tune with the goal of the organization. The top three projects in the various categories of land, air, and water will receive grants.
The awarded sums are $25 000, $50 000, and $100 000. For the approved projects which do not garner sufficient votes, an amount of ten thousand dollars gets sent to the project heads. The Fueling Change initiative is a continuous process that does not end once a project receives a grant. Once one voting cycle comes to an end, another period begins immediately. The organization also monitors the plans submitted to ensure that no fraudulent activities take place. Any group found guilty of such an offense is disqualified immediately.
